Bowls ACT Update – President and Executive Officer
Over the course of the past week Bowls ACT has received resignations from President David Pruss and Executive Officer Ciaran O’Rourke to take up separate opportunities.
David Pruss will be taking up an opportunity as President of the newly amalgamated Tuggeranong Vikings Bowls Club as they begin a new chapter in their histories as a combined Men’s and Women’s Club. Ciaran O’Rourke will be taking up an opportunity with the Australian Sports Commission, working within the Australian Institute of Sport.
The Bowls ACT Board would like to take the opportunity to thank both Ciaran and David for their efforts in recent times. Whilst disappointing to be losing both David and Ciaran at this time, the Board appreciates that they will be leaving the organisation in a position to move the sport forward in the region.
At a recent Board Meeting Matthew Styles was elected President of Bowls ACT, replacing the vacancy of David Pruss, and Di Marquet has been elected Vice President of Bowls ACT. The Board is currently considering their options in the replacement of the Executive Officer role and will have further information coming through to clubs shortly.
With the resignation of David Pruss from the Bowls ACT Board there is now a vacancy on the Board. Bowls ACT would like to open up the opportunity for members to express interest in being part of the Board.
